School Council

A School Council is elected by pupils in the school. Two representatives from each class are elected by their classmates to represent them. Each September elections are held for the positions on the School Council.

The Council representatives hold regular meetings attended by the Assistant Head, Miss Hall. At these meetings, decisions are taken, and the representatives feed back the information to their classmates. All pupils are encouraged to pass ideas and suggestions to their representatives, thereby sharing in the decision-making process.

The staff believe very strongly that the children should have a voice, and that their views should influence the development of the school. This years School Council are:

Year 6: Amy Sherlock and Jack Avison

Year 5: Chris Romaniuk and Gabrielle Parker

Year 4: Billie Jordan and Ewan Wilkinson

Year 3: Ivy Herd and Harvie Joseph Hicks

Year 2: Ted Brown and Poppy Overend

Year 1: Jacob Wilson and Isla Hodgson

Purple Polio Day

img_4539 img_4589 img_4638 img_4512 img_4573The School Council organised ‘Purple Polio Day’ where the children came to school wearing purple. All the children then planted a crocus bulb in the school garden which we look forward to seeing bloom in Spring. Well done to all the children, who raised a total of £159, this will be presented to Bingley Rotary Club at a special assembly for their ‘Crocus Appeal’ which helps immunise children against polio in the hope of eradicating the disease permanently.
